North of Santa Fe on the way to Tesuque, just past Hyde Park, where Zozobra is ritually burned during the annual fiesta, was once an old utilities company way station turned restaurant and bar called the Tequila Company.

Back in the early 70’s, before “the MAN” started to ruin rock and roll and FM radio, many avant-guard artists and famous actors could be found at the bar imbibing many a tequila with the locals and listening to the local musicians.   Santa Feans and tourists alike would come routinely for their fix of the homemade red and green chile.

Eventually, “the MAN” took back the way station and made it into a park.
The Tequila Company was no more...
