CONCEPT
Santa Fe, New Mexico is the second oldest city in the United States, nestled seven thousand feet high in the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains. The city has a unique history, being situated at the confluence of several remarkable features. The Rio Grande, the Old Santa Fe Trail trade route, the royal road from Mexico City all converge here, thus bringing different cultures together. Native Americans, Hispanos, and Anglos have been mingling here for centuries. Santa Fe New Mexico has become the magical city of the southwest – turning into a destination for writers, artists, sculptors, tourists. and chefs. Nicknamed “The City Different”, Santa Fe’s reputation for tolerating individuality has had much to do with its attraction as a place to live. Its tremendous appeal as a trendy place to visit is the result of countless articles and books about the landscape, the art scene, the cuisine, the architecture and the Santa Fe look in clothing and jewelry – all part of what is termed Santa Fe style. And though overexposure has fostered a certain Santa Fe blasé, there is just no denying the incredible charm of the place. |
